busy busy

What a weekend!
Friday... I had what began as a 'come in and fill out an application' and turned into a 2 hour interview and job offer.
Thursday afternoon I was calling places in a last ditch effort to find any kind of employment. And I was trying to find places that were close to our apartment so I could walk to work or ride my bike. So I called a place and they said they didn't have any open positions but that the Colonnade school did. So I called over there and she said to come in and fill out an application. And as I said... that turned into a LONG interview and a job offer.
You are now reading the blog of the Preschool teacher at Colonnade school. It is a preschool and day care school for government employees. It is a really nice facility! I was excited to see how interactive and experiential learning based it is. I am interested to see how this will turn out. The way I look at it is... it is a job. It is bringing in money that I didn't have before. So even though it is not my career job- it is still related to my field... kinda. At least it won't look really strange on my resume!
Ok... so our weekend trip.
Friday (after my surprise interview) we went out to Golden- Bryan was supposed to mountain bike and I was supposed to shop, but mountain biking didn't turn out and since it was memorial day weekend... lots of shops were closed. We still had a good time- it is a nice little town.

There were guys kayaking... Bryan wanted to watch because he wants to get a double kayak!
But if kayaking is like this... I am out!

This is the view what you drive up a mountain to go see Buffalo Bill's grave!
This is his grave at the TOP of the mountain.

They had these outside the museum. haha

Yes I know I have a semi obsession with my cats! But they are just so cute... how could you not take pics and share their cuteness with the world! This is Sookie!

This is one of my gross and pathetic efforts to cook with tofu... it was NASTY!!!!!!

Later during the memorial day weekend we drove out to Boulder to go see Bryan's cousin's husband preach at a church. So we went out there for that and then stayed because the Creek Festival was in town and that is pretty much a festival of everything. I mean clothes, food (lots of free samples *yummy*), work out equipment, art, yard art, and natural healing stuff. The only bad part was the BoulderBoulder marathon was Sunday so that town was packed to the brim. We shopped Pearl street for a little, but it wasn't worth fighting the crowds. Besides- I will be taking my momma there in a couple weeks, so I didn't need to see it that badly.

So we departed Boulder and headed to Nederland so Bryan could mountain bike.

This is the view in Nederland- I got to shop in one shop before they closed and I got the cutest little antique class top hat. It is so cute!

When Bryan mountain bikes and there is no town for me to explore... this is what I do... I read in the car.

But lucky me... there was a Antique and Used books store still open. They also sold ice cream... my lucky day. So I went in there.... bought a cone of peanut butter cup chocolate ice cream and explored her store and then read my book. It was very nice!

But the shop did close and Bryan wasn't done mountain biking... so I did have to go sit back in my car and read.

When he got done riding we went and found a camping spot and camped out in Nederland Saturday night. It was cold! So we got up Monday morning and headed back home.
When we got home... we did nothing and it was great. We sat on the couch and watched a movie. But then we got up and Bryan took me on an 'easy' mountain bike ride. I had fun, but I SUCKED. Which is funny because Bryan said I did better than he thought I would do... makes me wonder exactly how bad he thought I would be. haha
So that was our memorial day weekend!
